There is an *experimental* Icon-to-C translator in the Icon distribution; in
version 8.x it worked fairly well, but in 9.0 it's rather buggy --- and,
being unsupported, it's unlikely to be fixed (or so I have been informed).
(I don't have the time to overhaul it myself to track down the show-stoppers
that made me stop using it.)
The "main track" of Icon still involves compiling to interpreted u-code.
